The “Women’s Build” Project Wrap-up:
The Habitat for Humanity’s house built with “woman-power” is finished. The house was dedicated on April 29 with a very moving ceremony and our club has now finished the landscaping for that house.

After preparing the soil and making the brick walls in April, we had two May work-parties to plant perennials and trees and to lay the sod. The gang turned out in force again, and got the perennials planted very quickly. Then we went home, to allow the fence-builders to finish. Went back the next day to lay the sod – this was a dirty job!

Many thanks to the organizers, designers, plant donators, workers, solicitors of compost & rock, and workers! Thanks for everything you did to support this feel-good project.
The new owner is very grateful to our club.

COBRA Donation
Co-Chairs Anne Barlow and Pat Farris gave member Bonnie Chaikind, Development Director of Central Oregon Battery & Rape Alliance (COBRA), a check for $1,000 on behalf of SI Bend budgeted donation to that organization.
